And what kind of closet should you choose for your entryway? Here, too, it depends mostly on the size of your entryway. Some people choose large built-in closets for their entryways, where they store the entire family’s jackets, coats, and shoes. A corner closet is a great way to make use of the space in the corner of a room. Inside, you’ll find everything a child needs for convenient storage. There are two clothing rods where you can hang items of various lengths (such as T-shirts, longer jackets, pants, and dresses), as well as shelves for everyday clothes. Above the rods, there are often spacious open shelves with room for seasonal clothing, shoes, and boxes of small items. In addition, you can also use the bottom of the closet for storage—it can easily accommodate small sports equipment, shoes in boxes, backpacks, or suitcases.

Two or three drawers in a closet allow you to conveniently store underwear, ties, socks, and other small clothing items. A wardrobe with a built-in drawer is especially ideal for small rooms, such as compact bedrooms where there’s no room for an additional dresser. This solution is also a great option for children’s or teenagers’ rooms. After all, the youngest members of the family often have the smallest rooms in the house, which need to accommodate a lot of things.

Closet with lighting

Today, lighting is a must-have feature in any closet. Many closets come with lighting included in the price, while others offer it for an additional fee. If you’re wondering whether it’s worth investing in closet lighting, the answer is—of course it is. You’re surely familiar with this situation: at dawn, you’re searching your closet for your favorite black blouse, but unfortunately, all the black blouses look the same in dim light. Yet even a small amount of lighting is enough to solve this problem once and for all. The latest closets are equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting mounted above the rods and/or inside the shelves. LED lights can also be placed on top of the closet—this is still a good solution that makes everyday use of the closet easier. How do you organize a closet?

The most challenging part is probably planning a closet for two people, especially when each person has a different amount of clothing to store. A closet for two people should definitely be spacious. If the size of the room allows it, it’s best to opt for a large three-door closet. In a closet like this, you can easily create two separate storage areas for both partners. It’s most convenient when each person has one hanging rod all to themselves. Don’t forget to set aside space for shelves where you can store T-shirts, pants, or sweaters. If you don’t have room for that layout, the best option is to divide the closet in half. In that case, you’ll place a rod on one side and shelves on the other. There’s also a third option for those who prefer hangers—rods covering practically the entire wardrobe, with only a small amount of space for shelves. There are also those who don’t like hanging rods at all. In that case, look for a closet with as many shelves as possible or one where you can replace the hanging rods with additional shelves.

When planning the height of the rod, position it so that your clothes fit comfortably—from short shirts to long coats and dresses. Remember that there’s plenty of space above the rods that’s worth using. Since these shelves are high up, it’s best to store items you don’t use every day there, such as seasonal clothing or shoes. The bottom of the closet or the floor is also a good place for storage. You can store shoe boxes, suitcases, or small sports equipment here. In a large, spacious, and well-organized closet, you can also store other wardrobe-related items, such as an iron or an ironing board.

What should you look for?

When choosing a wardrobe, it’s worth paying attention not only to its functionality but also to its design and overall aesthetics. If you’re putting together furniture from different collections—and from different manufacturers—try to choose pieces that are consistent in color and style. Unless, of course, you’re going for a total stylistic patchwork—in which case, the only limit is your imagination. Generally, manufacturers do not provide detailed information about furniture colors. However, if you want a consistent style, you can ask the manufacturer for specific details about the color.

And what are the trendiest cabinet colors right now? Wood tones have been back in style for several years now. They come in a wide variety of shades—from very dark, almost black hues, through natural and warm tones, to cool and light ones. Artisan oak is currently the undisputed king of Polish interiors, as is easy to see by visiting furniture designers’ websites. Black and gray wardrobes, as well as white wardrobes with mirrors, are also very popular. It should be noted that all these finishes are currently matte. High-gloss wardrobes, after years of dominance, have finally become a thing of the past.
