Wood Tones
In 2021, we’ll be even more eager to furnish our bedrooms with wood-colored furniture. Already today, the trendiest finishes are those that strongly emphasize the wood’s grain, in a wide variety of shades—from light pine tones to dark oak and even finishes that mimic exotic woods. Importantly, bedroom furniture is becoming less glossy and increasingly resembles natural materials to a striking degree.
The Magic of Contrasts
Designers are combining wood tones with seemingly mismatched accents—metal, brushed gold, chrome, the texture of raw concrete, stones, and stone imitations. Furniture on legs will remain on trend, especially those with slender, geometric legs modeled after industrial structures. Metal accents also look striking when used as a frame to highlight the shape of a piece. This allows for the creation of interesting and unique compositions that straddle the line between industrial and loft styles, all wrapped in a cozy, modern aesthetic.
Soft Finish
Upholstered headboards are very popular. You can buy them as part of a bed set or as a separate piece to pair with your bed. Upholstered headboards come in a wide variety of colors, styles, and sizes—so everyone can choose a model that’s the perfect fit for their bedroom.
Beauty Corner
Trend shifts are also evident in the choice of furniture we use to furnish our bedrooms. It’s no longer just a bed, a wardrobe, and nightstands. If space allows, a vanity with a mirror appears in the bedroom—either as a standalone piece of furniture or as a beauty corner set up on the top of a dresser. Chests are very popular, especially those with an upholstered seat, which are placed at the foot of the bed.
Wardrobe with a mirror
Although almost every woman dreams of a separate walk-in closet, most of us end up choosing a large wardrobe instead. In this category, functionality generally trumps fashion, and the wardrobe should above all be spacious, convenient for everyday use, and consistent with the bedroom’s decor. An indispensable element of the wardrobe is a large mirror mounted on one of the fronts, which not only saves space but also brings more light into the room.
