The BED CONCEPT daybed is a certified, approved piece of furniture for the whole family, safe even for children. It is designed to be easy and comfortable to use for everyone in the household. The fold-away bed features a reinforced, wall-mounted body, a metal frame, and a sturdy support—this combination ensures that the entire unit is completely safe, stable, and durable. Pneumatic lifts prevent the bed from opening suddenly. BED CONCEPT also features a special stabilizer that prevents the mattress from shifting unexpectedly.
How does a modern daybed work?
A bed in a closet It was designed to be easy and safe to use for everyone, including children. When folded, the BED CONCEPT looks like a minimalist and elegant wardrobe. To open the bed, start by clicking the flap on the front, which also serves as the bed’s base. Now, all you need to do is gently pull on the leather handle, and the bed will begin to lower slowly, transforming the wardrobe into a comfortable place to sleep. It’s worth noting that the frame with the mattress lowers slowly and safely on its own—you don’t need to watch over it or support it. Closing it works similarly—simply lift the frame with the mattress gently, and the entire unit will begin to rise on its own, eventually closing inside the closet and freeing up space for other activities. Finally, you’ll need to click the bed base back into place on the front of the cabinet.
The smooth and effortless closing of this modern half-canopy bed is made possible by its pneumatic mechanism. It’s what ensures that operating the bed requires very little effort and that closing and opening it is not only child’s play, but above all, safe.
The bedding disappears along with the bed
A huge advantage of the modern half-canopy bed is that you don’t need extra space to store bedding. The half-canopy bed is equipped with very practical straps that secure the bedding, allowing the pillows and comforter to disappear along with the bed. In just a few moments! Now think about how long it takes to make a bed or a sofa in the living room—and how many times you have to remind the kids to finally tidy up their beds. The disappearing bedding is a great solution for anyone who simply doesn’t like wasting time making the bed every day.
Comfortable and stylish
BED CONCEPT was designed in the spirit of modern minimalism. Its geometric form, handle-free fronts, and understated design give the piece a stylish look while making it versatile and easy to adapt to various interior designs. The interior of the piece features shelves for books and decorative items. This ensures that everything you need is always within reach, and when the daybed is unfolded, the space will feel even more like a bedroom.
LED Lighting
A modern piece of furniture like this wouldn’t be complete without lighting, which is available as an optional extra. There are as many as three lighting options to choose from, and you can opt for all three in a single bed. The first is LED lighting mounted under the shelves, featuring a touch-sensitive dimmer that allows you to freely control and adjust the light intensity. This is a very interesting solution that allows you to enjoy both bright and dim lighting, and to create a cozy atmosphere in the room in the evening. The bed can also be equipped with flexible LED lights (perfect for evening reading) with a built-in USB port for charging your phone. To In addition to vertical blinds, vertical LED light strips are also available, mounted on the right and left edges of the bed, which add an interesting accent to the shape of the entire piece of furniture.
A modern half-canopy bed (almost) made to measure
BED CONCEPT folding beds are available in vertical and horizontal versions. The vertical half-bed is compatible with up to five mattress widths—90, 120, 140, 160, and 180 cm. The horizontal BED CONCEPT model, on the other hand, is designed for mattresses 90, 120, 140, and 160 cm wide. Each model (both the vertical and horizontal half-canopies) is designed for a 200-cm-long mattress. With so many options, everyone can find the perfect bed for themselves—a large bed for two, a single bed for a youth room or a smaller bed for a child’s room. The BED CONCEPT is available without a mattress, but the bed’s design allows it to be paired with any mattress up to 20 cm thick. Before purchasing a mattress, it’s also worth checking its weight capacity, as this varies by product. Information about the mattress weight is always provided on the product page or in the assembly instructions for the modern half-canopy bed. Due to its heavy weight, we do not recommend using latex mattresses. Bonell or spring mattresses are a better choice. The BED CONCEPT must be secured to a wall (but note—it cannot be a drywall wall)—only then is it safe to use.
All items in the collection are available in four finishes: matte white, white/glossy white, matte gray, and artisan oak. The wide range of colors, combined with the minimalist design, ensures that the furniture will adapt flexibly to various interior styles and other pieces of furniture in the home.
High-quality craftsmanship of modern daybeds
All components of the BED CONCEPT system, depending on the color option, are made of high-quality furniture board. Furniture in glossy white is made of MDF, while pieces in other matte colors are made of laminated board. Both materials are highly resistant to scratches, damage, moisture, and extreme temperatures. The bodies and fronts are finished with durable ABS edging. The lift mechanism and bed frame are made of metal, which directly contributes to their high durability. The slatted base is made of wood, and the handle for opening the bed is made of genuine leather.
Extra storage space
The collection also includes additional furniture with storage features. You can pair the vertical half-daybed with bookcases available in two options—with doors and shelves (BC-08) or with doors, shelves, and a small drawer (BC-07). These bookcases are ideal for storing clothes or bedding, but also for displaying items such as favorite photos or decorations. The vertical half-canopy bed can be equipped with extensions featuring doors or flaps. Each extension is designed to fit a specific horizontal half-canopy bed. The uniform style and color scheme of the furniture allow the pieces to be combined to create custom arrangements.
Thanks to its innovative design and numerous advantages, the modern BED CONCEPT daybed was recognized by the jury of a prestigious competition and awarded the Gold Medal of the Poznań International Fair. The piece also won the 2019 Furniture Diamond Award.
